Hello,
I didn't use DE to create a sector by sector copy that is bootable yet. Tried once and the disk(copy) is asking to format it. Just plugged a brand new drive to channel 1, source drive is on channel 0. MBR change option is dissabled. Am i missing something?
Any other program like DMDE makes a working, bootable copy.
Bootable sector by sector copy via DE

If you read every sector from the patient to the clone and the patient is a working bootable drive, the clone should be too.
Re: Bootable sector by sector copy via DE
I was thinking the same that it should work fine. But it didn't. I did clone the drive with DMDE program. Small fix with W7 instalation disc and works fine. Instaler showed that there is small problem that needs to be fixed. Few seconds later Windows was loading fine. On a drive cloned with DE Windows7 instalation disk didn't show any info that it needs to be fixed. It started to search for errors and didn't do anything.

Then you must be doing something wrong.

Did you leave the box checked where it says "Offline destination drive"? If so, you just need to modify the last byte of the MBR to put the destination drive back online.
