ST2000DM001 not ready - shorting points needed

Postby Continuum » 21.10.14, 04:54

I have an ST2000DM001 that spins up, no unusual noises, does not become ready.

CTL-Z does not go into terminal

Cannot enter change HDD ID

Terminal output is

Which continues and then stops this output. Still no access to terminal

Will shorting points work with this drive?

Here are the image of the board. Can anyone help with shorting points?

I have a board 100664987 REV A

I cannot seem to add attachments as it says "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." no matter how small the image is.

I have uploaded the images to

Hello Continuum,

Please see the picture under link. try red pins first, and if they not work, try yellow pair.

You need to use tweezers to apply to read channels on PCB during normal drive startup. Short circuit needs to be done at the correct moment to retain access to terminal to allow to make manual repairs with terminal commands which is currently impossible while reaches LED error
